How To Display Your Newborn Photos in Your Home

Imagine this…your baby is here and that newborn session you’ve been dreaming of is finally here too. You want to remember all of their little details and this new season as a growing family, only to receive your beautiful images and save a few favorites to share on social media. You have plans to come back and print them, but then life happens and you’re busier than ever. Before you know it, you are searching for the email with the link to your online gallery to for birthdays, anniversaries, holidays, etc..

But what about now? What about these early years where research has shown us that it benefits children to see themselves in photos? And then, years from now when your children are older and ask to see their baby photos, will you have them to show?

Those are the questions we will answer in this blog post. We are going to talk about how to display your baby’s newborn photos so that you can enjoy them now and for decades to come.

The Importance of Displaying Your Newborn Photos

The scenario above is sadly one that I am not stranger to either. We have all been there. That, along with realizing just how quickly those fleeting newborn days and first year goes, I knew I had to ensure my clients’ images made it into their hands and the walls of their homes.

You’ve probably read it on our website and will hear us say it a million times, “we will never abandon you with a gallery of digital images to leaving you to figure out what to do with them!” It’s something that we feel really passionate about for various reasons.

Increase Your Child’s Self-Esteem and Sense of Belonging

Perhaps the most important reason to display your baby’s newborn photos and memories of your family as your children grow is what it does for them. Research and experts in child psychology suggest that when children can see themselves in photos in their home, their sense of belonging and self-esteem are much higher than their peers.

David Krauss, child psychologist, says “My bias is very simple. I think the family photographs should be on the wall. “I am very conservative about self-esteem and I think placing a family photo someplace in the home where the child can see it every day without having to turn on a device or click around on a computer to find it really hits home for that child’s sense of reassurance and comfort. They have a certainty about them and a protecting quality that nurtures a child.”

I think about the joy our family portraits bring me and impact they have had on me over the years. If it can provide my children even a fraction of that, it’s worth the effort to ensure our portraits are printed. I don’t just want it for my children and my family; I want that for you and your children too!

Don’t Let Your Most Cherished Memories Live on a Hard Drive

Do you remember the floppy disk? Some of you will and others will have to google it. And that’s my point- technology and how we store memories is always evolving and not always compatible. Sure, there’s the cloud and online galleries, but is that really where you want your most cherished memories to live? Do you want to be limited to viewing them on a screen? Or, do you want to hold them in your hands or glance over at the wall and see them with ease?

Make the Most of Your Investment

I truly believe that investing in professional photography is an investment in your family’s memories and legacy. And I think when you look at it like that, you understand the important of doing something with them. It’s why we don’t just deliver your images. We go one step further to ensure that you aren’t halted by “decision paralysis” or the busyness of life, and have artwork in your homes.

Gallery Walls

Because I know there are real obstacles for a lot of families, I take on all of the work for my clients. I want to ensure that every family that wants frames in their home can. Every step of the way, from the digital design process to final installation, we handle all of the details so that at the end you will have a gallery full of memories beautifully displayed in your home in the most beautiful, luxurious way. All you have to do is show up for your session and then sit back on the day of install and watch your space transform!

It never ceases to amaze me how much adding these custom gallery walls truly elevates the design of a room and instantly makes every house feel warm and inviting. It brings life and joy to your home that you get to experience over and over. And let me tell you…sometimes you need to look over and see their framed portraits on the wall mid-tantrum or as they get older and suddenly are spending more time with their friends than they are you.

With each season, they will bring you joy in a different way. Trust me, I’m experience it right now, right alongside you!

Photo Albums

Who remembers flipping through old photo albums with your parents and grandparents when you were little? What about the stories that came along with it?  I know I did, and now, my children love it too- both their albums and mine!

Honestly it’s why we make albums for our clients. As much as we all love digital images to look at one our phone, they will be nearly impossible to find 18 years from now when they are grown (trust me…just ask me where my 10 year olds newborn photos are). Printing your images in these beautiful coffee table worthy albums will make sure these photos make it for your grandkids to see what grandma looked like when she was young and gorgeous. Oh, and what their mom or dad looked like as a baby too!

Sure, it may be a little cheesy, but just imagine the stories you will tell and the tears and laughter they will bring throughout the years. I know it brings my heart so much joy to imagine. I don’t want to miss out on it for a minute. Don’t you either!

My Story

Hi, I’m Kristin.

I’m a hardworking mama, just like you, except my babies are getting older now. I’ve got a perspective that I only I wish I had when they were little. I’ve got regrets. I didn’t know just how fast it would all go. And now my mission is to save other moms from those same regrets.

I am your family’s photographer, your new mom friend, your personal stylist, your pampering coordinator, and your memory keeper.

Over the last 6 years, I’ve served tons of mamas, rocked 100s of babies, and wrangled 1000s of toddlers creating magic for families spread across Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts, and Vermont. And I'd be honored to do the same for you.

Let’s start documenting your baby’s story!

We take a limited number of families each year to make sure each Mama gets all the love attention she deserves. Contact us today to check availability for your baby's First Year Collective or portrait session.
