I knew from the moment I met Kelly and Connor at their maternity session that it was going to be a really sweet year! And that it was. From Pippa’s newborn session to first birthday, I had the honor of not only documenting her milestones, but just how loved she is.
Getting to know families is one of my favorite parts of being a CT newborn photographer. What I do is so much more than taking photos. It’s getting to know your family, your story, and ensuring that we document it in a way that is truly authentic to you. When we do that, you’re not only able to look back on your memories, but feel how you did in those moments too.
Trust me, as a parent, that’s a priceless gift- for both you and your children.
Time Flies…It’s True!
In the blink of an eye, the journey from newborn to first birthday is filled with memories that will be cherished for a lifetime. As parents, we often find ourselves caught in the whirlwind of the first year. It’s fiilled with countless precious moments, sleepless nights, and the incredible journey of watching our little ones grow. Might I add, constantly taking photos of them- BUT, rarely in them with our children.
That’s where I come in and why I feel so passionate about photographing your baby’s first year. It’s hard to imagine just how much they will change. But once you are living it AND you look back on photos, you see it. Too easily.
Maternity, Newborn, “Sitter,” and First Birthday
I’m not sure that I’ve ever had a little change as much as sweet Pippa did in her first year! We started off her First Year Collective when she was still in her Mama’s belly. I love that they didn’t skip doing a maternity session. A lot of parents do, but there’s just something really special about documenting the two of you as a couple before welcoming your first baby.
Next was Pippa’s newborn session in the studio. She was awake for just a few photos. Then as soon as I swaddled her, she fell asleep and snuggled up to Mom and Dad for the rest of her newborn photos.
For Pippa’s “sitter” session, we went to Sherwood Island to work in an outdoor family session during her first year. She made me work for the smiles, but loved playing airplane with Dad and checking out her bracelet with Mom!
To wrap up Pippa’s first year, we came back to the studio. I love having these full-circle sessions in the studio. This session was also extra special because Pippa wore her Mama’s dress from when she was a baby. Can you even imagine how special this is, not only now but decades from now?
Pippa’s fur-siblings also joined us to celebrate her first birthday, and my goodness did it make for the cutest photos. You’ll have to scroll to see! AND- if you’re expecting and interested in documenting your baby’s first year, contact us!
