I’m not sure there’s anything sweeter than a newborn and dog together, and that’s exactly what I got with this family newborn session in the studio! It was one of those sessions that I walked away from and couldn’t wait to start editing. Baby girl was an angel, big sister was so proud, Tucker (their family dog) was quite handsome, and Mom and Dad were totally smitten with both of their girls.
Getting Ready + Sophie’s Solo Portraits
While Mom was getting hair and makeup done, I started with baby Sophie’s solo portraits. She’s the sweetest little girl and already showing off her little personality- tongue out and all! I was also lucky enough to get a smile and a few awake photos!
Once Dad and big sister arrived, she and Mom picked out their dresses from the client wardrobe. We kept everything very neutral with a lot of white and I loved how it all came together- very classic!
Sibling + Family Portraits
After everyone was ready, it was time for more photos! We started with sibling photos of the girls and then moved onto their first family portraits. Tucker made an appearance a few times as well. These first family portraits together are some of my absolute favorite photos to take.
This season can undoubtedly bring a lot of change, and everyone is settling into their new roles. But as hard as it can be, it’s also a really beautiful time, full of moments that we never want to forget. These are some of the moments you’ll look back on and be so thankful you documented. You’ll be glad you’re part of them too, and it’s not just photos of the new baby, but your family as it is now.
