When the regulations came out for photographers and we learned we could do outdoor newborn sessions in Connecticut, I was so happy. And guess what? I also discovered I LOVE outdoor newborn sessions. Seriously, if the weather could be this beautiful all year, I would do them outside alllllll the time!
I can almost guarantee you have never seen a sweeter big sister than Sophie! I am not sure who was happier between the two of us. She was just so happy, loved to kiss her baby sister, and was also a big fan of my Moses basket. I have been bringing it for outdoor newborn sessions because it allows me to get some of those simple baby-only photos while keeping a distance and also keeping them off of the ground.
When we transitioned to outdoor newborn sessions, I had to consider locations that would allow for shade but also wanted to make sure I could deliver images consistent with what my clients expect. Sherwood Island is perfect because there are a lot of trees but the light is always so beautiful. I tend to start in the fields and then move down to the beach closer to sunset.
I am so excited that even with Covid, I am able to still offer hair and makeup. Our hair and makeup artists with BeautyMarked Studio received COVID certifications and wear masks at all times.
Momma chose a beautiful white dress with lace detail from the client closet. Big sister is wearing a precious little eyelet dress and we kept it simple with baby sister in a classic white swaddle + headband. This tends to make it pretty simple for Dad and we just had him wear a white button-down with light khaki pants.
I love the all-white combination and mixing up the fabrics and textures. Styling appointments happen via Facetime right now to minimize in-person contact. We set up a time and go through the colors and styles that best suit your family. Your selections are available for contactless pickup the day prior to your session at my studio!
