Oh sweet Ruby June is one of the cutest little babies I had in the studio this year! Her family made the quick drive from Fairfield, Connecticut to my studio in Darien for their newborn session. I loved working with this family so much!
Ruby is baby girl #2 in this family so Mom was already a pro at this new Mom business. Ruby’s big sister was a HAM and I had such a blast with her. She was so excited to be a big sister and was so sweet with her new baby!
When the family arrived, we chatted a few minutes about what colors they had in their home and how we could choose wardrobe that would fit their style and look beautiful displayed in their home. I helped Mom look through all the dresses in the Client Wardrobe and we talked about the different cuts and textures and what would flatter skin tone. She chose this ivory lace maxi dress and it was absolutely perfect on her. Of course big sister wanted the tutu dress and thankfully it matched Mom’s choice perfectly. Dad’s khaki pants tied in perfectly and the family perfectly cohesive.
Ruby tried her hardest to stay awake as much as possible. I find that happens more often when there is a big sibling involved. FOMO sets in early! HA! But, she eventually decided she better take a little nap. People frequently ask during the session if the baby has to be asleep. My response is always, as long as they are happy, we are good to go! I love wide awake baby images just as much a sleepy baby (it is just a little more challenging when they are awake due to them moving their head around). And just look at Ruby’s gorgeous eyes! I would be so sad if I hadn’t captured them!
