This family maternity session at Weed Beach in Darien, CT was truly one of the sweetest sessions I’ve photographed. It was a rainy, overcast day but it wasn’t going to stop these three from celebrating. They were so excited to welcome baby girl #2 and I am just so excited that I get to document their family over the next year!
Big sister is just shy of two and during this session, I was reminded how much I LOVE photographing this age. They are eager to explore and it makes for some of my favorite candid photos of families on the beach. This sweet girl also just loved being by Mom and Dad whether she was holding their hands or giving them the best hugs!
Overcast Weather at the Beach
This past year was a doozy – weather included! It can be so fickle here in Darien. One second the sun is shining, the next the sky opens up and pours on us. Often times the rain will pass quickly, but sometimes it doesn’t and we have overcast skies.
I promise, so long as it’s not totally dark out – it’s okay! In fact, I sometimes prefer overcast by the beach, especially when you have toddlers. The light is more even, making it a little easier to chase them around from different directions.
Big sister is wearing a dress from the client wardrobe and Mom chose a dress she already owned. Angelina from BeautyMarked Studio was able to go to their house to do Mama’s hair and makeup. After a little pampering, we met up at Weed Beach. Here are a few of my favorites from their maternity session!
